Our Medical Decision...the Next Step

So Matt returned from an AWESOME trip to Kentucky (God reaffirmed the dietary changes and put us on a great new path for nutrition) and we returned to visit our oncologist. Matt's blood test yesterday confirms that the AFP count is still increasing (it is now 14.2); Dr. Kohler agreed to another CT scan before deciding our next move. Medically our options are: 1) chemo or 2) a referral to a specialist. We don't have to officially decide until April 17th, our next appointment.

However...God very quickly confirmed some things for both Matt and I, so we've already told the doc what we would like to do. Word on the street (at least through our urologists office) is that Indiana University is THE leading research facility for testicular cancer. Though our doc wants to refer us to U-M at Ann Arbor (GO BLUE!), we'd like to pass at that chance and go see THE experts. And hey, we'll still be in the Big Ten ;) So, we marched right back into the office and let the receptionist know that we would like to be referred to I-U. We won't get a referral until after April 17th.

So, that's the most recent...and we have COMPLETE peace about it!! God has been so faithful to guide us...thanks for your prayers and support!
